Airport Overview
Butembo is a large city with an estimated population of 1 million people. The Butembo airstrip runs quite literally through the middle of the city, which unfortunately has reasonably high rates of urban crime. Due to a lack of security at the airport, there are often numbers of people who cross the runway, even when soldiers are deployed to prevent people from doing so. As a result, the runways of the airport are considered dangerous.
