Port Overview
The port of Ankify is the gateway of the island of Nosy be for all persons or goods coming from Madagasacar.
The port is quite well organized, and offer different transport services such as rapid shuttle for tourists, regular transport of person with motor boat, BAC for the transport of vehicles and commodities and cargo dedicated boats.
To avoid too much competition, the transporters are grouped in an association called GOTMANO (Groupement des Transporteurs d’Ankify Nosy Be), the prices are fix and the boats leave the port according to a pre-established schedule.
The APMF is on site both in Ankify and in Nosy be and remain the port authority.
A crossing between Ankify and Nosy be takes around 1 hour. Even if during the trip, coasts are always visible, and it is recommended to travel on the morning when the sea is calm. All the boats transporting peoples have life jacket on board.

Port Performance
Even if the Ankify port is most of the time crowded, it has not vocation to receive any good, it is only an access point to Nosy Be for the peoples and a supply point for the locally purchased items to reach the island.
There are 10 wooden transport vessel with a capacity of 30t , 6 barges with a capacity of 40t. they have an average of 40 to 100 trips per day in total.
There are no import/export activities in Ankify.
